The piece below is based on working in organisations over the decades. With the direct and indirect guidance of hundreds of teams and working groups and of thousands of individuals. The story describes the general rule; thus ignores the exception. Based on these kinds of general principles, we then look at the interventions in a specific team and the changes that took place therein.
Most groups of people who work together and call themselves ‘team’ are actually work groups, not teams in the true sense of the word. ‘Team’ explained as an acronym (tongue in cheek) means Together Each Achieves More Which says so much that in collaboration everyone also achieves their own higher goals.
